Dr Simone Silver

Dr Simone Silver graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2007.

Even as a medical student, she was intrigued by the concept that not only are all the body systems connected in an intricate manner but that a network of environmental, psychological, hormonal, genetic and dietary factors all influence physical and emotional well-being and propensity for disease.

Over the years, as her studying branched into the field of Functional Medicine, her interest in individualised healthcare became an inexhaustible passion.

She practised at the Integrative Medical Centre in Johannesburg until 2014, when she moved to Cape Town and opened her own practice in Gardens.

She is currently completing her Fellowship in Anti-aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and lectures to both healthcare professionals and patients alike.

Her areas of particular medical interest are Hormonal Imbalances across all ages, particularly in women, Menopausal Health, Chronic stress and Burnout management.

When she is not consulting or teaching, she can be found playing in the garden with her 3 small children and 2 dogs. She loves writing and enjoys indulging in journaling, reading poetry, playing the guitar and having a splash in the sea.

She values self-growth and awareness and is excited by life’s daily opportunity for continued learning and development.

Dr Kate Klaasen

Dr Kate completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology and Psychology from The University of Cape Town in 2012.
She then completed her Medical MBBCh from The University of Witwatersrand in 2016.

While completing her government service, she fell in love with the art of preventative medicine and getting more involved with her patients and the community.

In 2020, she indulged her passion in food, working in the kitchen of a well-known Cape Town-based chef. As well as achieving excellence in Nutrition Science through Stanford Medicine. Dr Kate is passionate about Gut health and role that it has in overall systemic health.

Dr Kate is currently completing her Fellowship in Anti-aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Her specific interests lie in hormonal balancing, menopausal health, gut health, and burnout management. With a special interest in Epigenetics, she completed her DNAlysis training studied through and is affiliated with DNAlysis, enabling her to provide good insight into patients DNA reports.

She is certified in the art of administering Botox and looks forward to continuing her ongoing Aesthetics journey.

She is passionate about continued learning and aims to have her patients leaving the rooms feeling more empowered and able to take control of their own health.

Dr Tracy Flowers

Dr Tracy Flowers completed her MBChB with first-class honours in 2015, and went on to work in the field of HIV/TB for Doctors Without Borders, fueling an already-growing passion for exploring the underlying issues affecting an individual’s health.

She enjoys practicing in a way that appreciates the interconnectedness of our body’s systems, and uses an approach that is highly individualised, going beyond simply medicating symptoms. She treats both men and women and her areas of interest are the postpartum period, hormonal health (including peri-/menopause), gut health, autoimmunity and chronic fatigue. She particularly loves practicing preventative medicine – optimizing healthspan and improving quality of life.

Dr Tracy believes in the importance of every individual being seen, heard, understood, acknowledged and taken seriously, recognising that medicine is both a science and an art. She counts it a privilege to walk alongside someone on their health journey and have someone share their story with her.

Dr Tracy is currently completing a Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Metabolic Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and is passionate about ongoing research and learning. She also offers aesthetic treatments, bringing an element of creativity into her work.

Outside of the consultation room, Dr Tracy is a wife, mother (of two gorgeous, wild girls) and friend. Her faith and matrescence journey have significantly shaped how she cares for her patients and herself. She enjoys weightlifting, exploring nature, lounging in hammocks and expressing herself creatively through poetry.

Dr Heather Blaylock

I am a medical doctor with a special interest in sexual medicine/ health and chronic pain management with a holistic and interdisciplinary approach. I graduated in 1998 from the University of the Witwatersrand and spent time working, in the UCT psychiatric hospitals and then as a surgical assistant in cardio-thoracics. It was while I was practicing aesthetic medicine, specifically intimate ‘rejuvenation’ treatments that my true love, sexuality and sexual health, emerged.

After attending the ESSM ‘sex-med ‘school’ in Budapest in 2016 I knew I had found my people, my passion and achieved a Fellow of the European Society of Sexual Medicine in 2018. I have been practicing sexual medicine since, have lectured nationally and internationally, contributed to articles in magazines and news24 online platforms. Have been given the privilege to share on radio and open safe spaces for discussions on sexual health issues.

In 2024 I completed a Post Graduate diploma, from UCT, in Interdisciplinary pain management. As chronic pain and sexual health are so intertwined, integrating knowledge to better manage patients it is a unique qualification.

I deeply love my two teenage sons and two rescue dogs, who actually recused me.

It’s hard for me to sit still and am happiest outdoors, being active, gardening or on the beach. I get a kick from living life with family and friends and am a study enthusiast.

Powerful issues of body image, gender-based violence and domestic violence burn me. Advocating for healthy sexuality impassions me.

Dr Cayla Campbell

Dr Cayla Campbell

Dr. Campbell earned her medical degree through the Graduate Entry Programme at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2017, following a Bachelor of Science in 2013.

From an early age, she believed that true health is multifaceted—requiring a holistic approach that considers every aspect of one’s life. This belief deepened when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and an immunodeficiency, prompting her to seek care from a Functional Medicine doctor. Since then, she has embraced an integrative approach to her own health and extends this philosophy to her medical practice.

After completing her internship at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital and her community service year at Edenvale Hospital, Dr. Campbell moved to Cape Town, where she practiced Emergency Medicine for four years. While these years were foundational in her medical journey, her passion for Functional and Integrative Medicine continued to grow as she navigated her own health challenges and supported others with similar experiences. This calling ultimately led her to transition from emergency medicine to a more holistic practice, joining the Hormonal Health team.

Dr. Campbell has a particular interest in chronic inflammation, autoimmunity, gut health, burnout, menopause/perimenopause, and hormonal balance. She is currently completing her Fellowship in Integrative and Functional Medicine with the Institute of Integrative Medicine.

Outside of her medical practice, she finds joy in spending time with loved ones, traveling, hiking, sea swimming, writing poetry, and facilitating guided meditations and shadow work sessions.

She also serves as the Healthcare Coordinator for AfrikaBurn, thriving in the vast and untamed beauty of the Karoo Desert.

As both a doctor and a patient, Dr. Campbell understands the complexities of chronic illness and the deeply personal nature of healing. She is committed to walking alongside her patients with empathy and understanding, empowering them to reclaim their health and well-being.

Dr Louise du Plessis

Dr Louise du Plessis completed her MBChB at the University of the Free State in 2018. After completing her government service, she began working as a general practitioner in a small town, where she developed a deeper interest in a more holistic approach to healthcare.

This led her to pursue Functional and Integrative Medicine. She is currently completing a Diploma in Integrative Medicine through the Golding Institute and aims to complete further training in this field.

Driven by her faith and a genuine love for people, Dr du Plessis is passionate about helping patients find long-term wellness. She believes in a patient-centered approach that considers the whole person—body, mind, and lifestyle.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr du Plessis enjoys spending quality time with her family, listening to music, traveling, and exploring nature through hiking.

He has done his Integrative Medicine certification through The Golding Institute of South Africa and is currently pursuing his Diploma in Internal Medicine through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

From a professional point-of-view, Nick has a passion for diseases of lifestyle (e.g. high blood pressure, cholesterol, being overweight, diabetes, asthma and COPD, etc.) as well as seeing patients from a holistic perspective: acknowledging the interaction of our physical, mental, spiritual, social and ecological components.
